Origin:  Australia, Arnhemland  (Provenance: Ex. collection of Dr. George Alan Solem, American malacologist (curator of invertebrates at the Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago) Dr. Solem acquired the painting in 1980's while doing field work on species of land snails in Australia)

Period/Date:  Late 1970's-early 1980's

Materials:  wood, rope, bark, paint

Description:  This exciting bark of dancing mimi lizards by Dick Ngulei Ngulei retains is original label and was painted at the Oenpelli Aboriginal Mission (Church Missionary Society).  The handwriting on the label says: Special "Sharp leg" mimis by ngulei ngulei.  I think that word is sharp?
