1940's NEW GUINEA PHOTOS- TROBRIAND ISLANDS

Origin: N. Philippines, Luzon, Bontoc and Ifugao      (Provenance: collection of Michael Auliso)

Period/Date:  Early 20th century

Materials: hardwood

Description:  This group comprises 30 photos, of I believe, the Trobriand Islands.  They date to 1943 and were take by an Army serviceman who was stationed there.  One photo shows two American Servicemen/ physicians preparing medicine and herbs on their base.  Many of the photos have approved army examiner stamps where they were passed and approved.  Condition is fair to okay.

Dimensions vary but average size is about 3.5" x  5.25".
